Join this workshop to create your own pressed floral art. Over the 2 hours you will learn the basics of pressing flowers, before creating and fixing your own floral design in a 6x4 glass frame.
I'm a small scale floral artist so you'll be using some of the flowers I've pressed from my own garden over the years. These range from bluebells to pansies, hydrangea, leaves, daisies and more.
To give you a sense of what you could make, see the photos or visit Lillyannefia on Instragram.
Materials
Frames are provided (not the ones in the photos). They are 6x4 glass with gold metal edging, a chain for hanging, and a stand. You may bring your own frame - please make sure it's no larger than 6x4. The price will remain the same.
Venue
I am privileged to be hosting this workshop in the function room of the Salisbury Hotel - it's a stunning building and an incredible example of a fully functioning (and lavish!) Victorian pub. Designed and built in 1898-9 by John Cathles Hill, founder of the London Brick Company, The Salisbury retains the glorious original features of the period.
Elaborate ironwork over the entrances and the beautifully abundant tiling and decorative mirrors in the porches give a taste of what is to be experienced within.
A stunning stained glass skylight adorns the back room that houses an open kitchen, and ornate mosaic floors, plaster and woodwork, pillars and stone are spread throughout the vast, award winning interior.
What's more, you can bring drinks into the workshop and they also serve excellent food that is available before or after the workshop (no greasy fingers on the glass frames please).
