SUNDAY AFTERNOON JAZZ with Mike Gorman, pianist/writer/arranger and Brigitte Beraha, vocalist/composer.

Band line-up: Mike Gorman (piano) Brigitte Beraha (vocals) Oli Hayhurst (bass)

Mike Gorman is a UK-based pianist who has worked with a wide variety of artists across the jazz and popular music fields including: Dee Dee Bridgwater, Marlena Shaw, Boy George and Culture Club, Kid Creole and The Coconuts, Manu Katche, Trevor Horn, Incognito, Us3, Omar, Van Morrison, Lol Creme, Mica Paris, Marty Pellow, Hamish Stuart, Rumer, Georgie Fame, Tom Robinson, Jim Mullen, Pee Wee Ellis, Scott Hamilton, Bill Watrous, Jimmy Witherspoon, Michael Urbaniak, Peter King... Mike is a regular member of The Peter King Quartet and The Jim Mullen Organ Trio.

Brigitte Beraha, improvising vocalist and composer, is one of the leading talents on the UK jazz scene. Embracing a wide variety of influences and genres, Beraha’s sound is free and spontaneous with an emphasis on exploration, expression and fearlessly testing the limits of the voice as instrument. "A great musician, Brigitte Beraha uses her voice like an instrument in the tradition of people like Flora Purim, Tania Maria and Esperanza Spalding." - Julian Joseph, Jazz Line-Up, BBC Radio 3

They will be joined by Oli Hayhurst, bassist. Oli graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2000 and is now one of the UK and Europe’s most in demand and respected double bassists. His work includes Pharaoh Sanders, Jacqui Dankworth, Julian Siegel, Zoe Rahman, Ray Gelato, Cara Dillon and Seth Lakeman among many others.
