Park View update

So it has been a while since our last update, but we have plenty to tell you about! The latest newsletter is out and is now available to view online in Turkish as well as Somali! 

If you are a fan, you may have seen the hype of our facebook and twitter pages about the Holland Sports tour over Easter.

A group of 60 students visited Centre Parcs Limburgse Peel in Holland to provide students with an enriched understanding of sports and to improve the standards of how they play.

During the week tour, students and staff took part in team building exercises, staff vs students’ volleyball competition, visited the De Efteling Theme Park and a trip to Amsterdam to visit the canal area. The teams took part in heavy training sessions in preparation for matches against other schools.

Dance students studied different styles of dance, and teams took part tournaments and leagues matches. The matches ended with a disco for all competing schools and the tour concluded with a trip to PSV Football stadium and U14 basketball competition. Park View came home with 4 trophies for U15 Boys football winners, U15 Boys Basketball winners and U16 Girls Basketball winners and for taking part.

The tour enabled students to see that the standards of playing basketball, football, dance and netball in England differs in Europe. The Tour provided the opportunity to open their minds and permit students to see the sports in another light. It also opened their eyes to new experiences and showed them the possibility of playing in another country.

For many students, this was an opportunity to visit another country for the first time so they got to experience of another life, culture and lifestyle.

This was the 9^th Annual Sports Tour. Previous tours have included trips to Spain, Italy and France.
