Seems like it with Magara and Umut 2000 now on the scene. Incidentally I had a delightful meal at Magara. My wife and I usually go to Nawroz of a Friday night, but last week it was packed out, so we hastened back down Green Lanes and decided to try Magara. We've never been fans of double- or triple-wides (our previous single-unit choices were the long-gone Sofra, which closed down; then Yayla, which also closed down; then, on the same premises, Vadi, before that too closed down). As I said, Magara was very nice. From now on it will be a tougher choice for us -- between Nawroz (which we love) and Magara.

And you can add Golden Sands to the ever growing list - on the site of the old Nile Bar / Duke of Cambridge-near the top of West Green Rd. I think any retail site around here that's got enough footfall is fair game for transformation to a mega Kofte barn. One silver lining is that they have semi renovated the Victorian exterior

I see other cuisines on Green Lanes (Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian) and they are consistently near empty. People come from all over for the Turkish and nothing else. It stands to reason what sorts of restaurants thus will open.

Indian is unexciting? Get yourself to Jashan or Jai Krishna on Turnpike Lane.

Given that it can still be difficult to get a table on a Saturday night it's obvious that the demand is there.

Plus, there is also pub food, burgers, Polish, Italian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian, Greek, Indian, fish & chips, etc within a 10 minute stretch. The area isn't short of choice.

Absolutely. I think we're spoilt for good places to eat at the moment. Sambal Shiok at Blend is excellent, as are Indika, Bun and Bar and Hanoi Pho amongst others. I've also heard good things about the new Italian on West Green road.

As others have said, this is the go-to stretch for Turkish food, so it's not surprising that the market can sustain plenty of them - similar to Kingsland Road for Vietnamese. Nothing wrong with that.
