Well. He really doesn't deserve being saved.
He hasn't really done enough for Tottenham. He stood on the fence re Wards Corner and didn't stand up for the 'small people' who risk losing their livelihoods to some big private developer.
He didn't use his influence to stop bully Spurs from destroying an entire swathe of our High rd including listed buildings and important portions of the conservation area up in North Tottenham. Quite the opposite!
He was ready to opportunistically abandon us for the position of Mayor.
I've never heard him try and get Haringey reclassified as an inner London Borough.
His book was full of vapidity?

All these things said it would be disastrous to allow Tories to gerrymander and reduce the number of constituencies as they are trying to!
You read his book!!!!!????
Yes. It is called 'Out of the Ashes'. The man is the MP for Tottenham. Couldn't just only use my impressions of him when I 'dealings' with him to make my judgement. So I read it yes.
Underwhelming!
We in Tottenham, really need some one who understands the problems of 'underdevelopment' to help the place, the people in the place, not just the buildings, be lifted out of 'deprived' status' that parts of the place are labelled with.
The regeneration that is taking place reminds me of foreign development aid that 'developed' countries give to 'underdeveloped' ones in the name of economic progress. The GDP figures may go up but the actual condition of the most needy people doesn't improve at all.
Does Tottenham boy, black MP, David Lammy understand that? Read the book and you'll see that he doesn't have a clue! I am very harsh, yes I agree.

This is really a piece of yellow journalism. The government's Boundary Commission is base on outdated figures, and excludes at least 2 million people who registered AFTER the cut off date. But this piece is yet another excuse to attack Jeremy Corbyn. Lammy is not being SACRIFICED to save Corbyns seat; its pure speculation. I note that what has not been reported is Southgate Conservative MP David Burroughs setting up a group to oppose boundary changes which would see HIS seat disappear. (shades of Boris style self interest)

The proposals have one important flaw, they are based on those registered to vote rather than resident populations. Whether you are a registered voter or not you have the right to parliamentary representation so the calculation falls at the first hurdle. It will also mean that areas with low voter registration, which tend to be those places with high levels of deprivation, will potentially have huge caseloads compared to better off constituencies, which tend to have higher rates of voter registration.

Strangely the same people have suggested targeting Keir Starmer's seat as well, not a supporter of the current leader particularly either.
