I wonder. will that work delay the Grand Opening tomorrow ?
I am worried about the speed bumps not being in place. To go from no traffic to 50 mph cars on the day the schools go back is very scary.
I don't think there ever were speed bumps there.
There were on the section they have just done in the middle of the ladder. No attempt to replace them.
There was a speedbump between the mosque and the church
ah you've got to love Haringey Council. They seem to excel in putting our lives in danger.
Have they done a deal with the Mercs of Green Lanes i wonder?
Sorry folks, I'd better not mention the WR words. Someone might find them inappropriate.
I thought you would be please! - I was not making any distinction!
In actual fact, it's pretty quiet isn't it? The word hasn't got out yet to all those people in Hertfordshire that the greatest shortcut in North London is open again. 1.6 miles from the traffic lights at Turnpike Lane until you hit another set at Stroud Green Road. Where else can you do that in London?
Yes it is quiet. It is a bit heartbreaking to think of all that effort and work that has gone on as people have found different transport solutions . . . but of course day by day more and more drivers will re-discover Harringay as a rat-run until it clogs up again as it was.
Mind you - I did have my first near injury on Wightman as some idiot in a Jag overtook me on my bike at one of the narrow points. Just like the old days.
