Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I came across this  whilst trying to find out what happened to the Khan Bros shop on Queen's Parade which has been taken over by new owners (I had no idea, I was in there 2 days before it closed down and have been a regular for emergency supplies of bread/milk/wine etc for years).

I also discovered that the fried chicken shop next door to Rainbow is up for sale too.

I'm surprised than B&B is up for sale after only a year.  To quote the owners

"we are the largest family owned, independent organic store in Harringay"

(not difficult tbh)

Why do you think that?

I shop there! But not a lot I must admit. The guy at the counter is an expert at all things alternative medicine and has given me some great advice. I would miss it a lot plus I like having a coffee on the terrace, also inside. I like the space and light you don't get in other cafes along the Lanes.

I shop there too. It's an excellent community asset to have. Distinctive from the local store (which is great too). Paul in the shop's really knowledgable. He's a qualified nutritionalist and diagnosed my sister's magnesium deficiency which had been giving her symptoms for years. She's much better now and the advice was totally free. Brilliant.

Keep up the good work guys. Great to have you nearby.

Fully support your views Jacq! Paul indicated to me I was iron deficient and suggested a very cheap source of help for that. Plus was very helpful with exercise suggestions. It's a great asset to have especially when it's so hard to get a doctor's appt. and even when you have one, you have to wait so long (so long that I had to give up yesterday...) I hope B and B is there to stay!

The chicken shop has been on Rightmove for years.

LOL

Hope Jam in a Jar can afford to take it over.

Not unless you pay £10 a pint Mr Chalk

Shame, it was nice to have something else than the same old kind of restaurant opening on Green Lanes, for a change...

It has always seemed reasonably busy to me which I was surprised.

Anyway, it is being sold as a going concern  - the website page I saw yesterday seems to have been taken down now (fair enough).

Hello all,

There is no need to worry about Beans & Barley as this advert has not been posted by us and we only noticed it when we saw this topic.

We don't know why someone would do such a thing but there are obviously people who don't like us and wanted to create a subject for gossip.

We have found the advert and reported it and it should come down soon...

We thank you for all your positive comments any way  Any changes that you want to recommend will be taken into account also..

Ps. For the people who commented on the shop being empty, the shop is doing very well and we thank all of our loyal customers.

Regards,

So this does mean it's business as usual for the foreseeable future, yes?
