Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

On a quick trot down to Turnpike Lane I thought again how pleasant it is to see people out on the street. Click each picture for a clearer version.

Fair enough - but unless there's another John who used the word copious on this thread.. ;)
Philip, couldn't follow on from your post as the thread was full. The study is a digest and includes studies undertaken in Bristol and Dublin.
Never before imagined. Wightman Road residents having a barbecue, in their front garden.

Complain about the fumes!

I can't abide barbecues. People bang on about all the pollutants in the atmosphere and then set fire to a big bag of charcoal right next to your clean washing.
Just stood outside for 15 minutes, 1 car, police helicopter and 2 foxes, peace and tranquility
£1.10 for a bottle of water is outrageous.

Why don't we have water fountains in our park anyway? Surely the income from Wireless should pay for facilities like these?

As a resident of Wightman Road since 2009, I have been following the various threads on here with interest. I am surprised by the level of negativity from many.

For me, the closure is quite simply wonderful. Walking out of my front door to the sound of birdsong, rather than a lorry hitting the speedbump, and strolling down to Hornsey to catch my train now makes the start of my day a pleasure. It makes me wonder how much of a negative impact on mental health living on such a busy road can have.

I am very much in favour of the road being closed for good. I am also keen to get involved in some the activities being planned.

My housemates and I think a game of kiwk cricket would be good fun. We could have a Wightman Road team v the rest of Harringay or something.
