Ok I'm done!! I'm Off for a pint or two and a wee bit of schadenfreude!!!

Speed of some of the traffic on Warham Rd is quite scary.  Has any thought been put in to this?

So much more signage is required.

Just spoke with two workers. More signage and bollards/blocks coming.  Also moving some of the blocks closer together to stop people sneeking through.

Yes, this is also a problem on Beresford Road right now. People are ignoring the 20 mile an hour limit as they realise their usual route is disrupted. This needs monitoring. (This comment in response to one about the traffic speed on Warham).

This appears to becoming a blog for cyclists. Sadly for those of us like myself that have to traverse that awkward area having relocated from Muswell Hill to Green Lanes this means negotiating school runs and work will be something of a challenge. But from a safety point of view its just as well that cyclists will be able to use the road as I expect Green Lanes and Turnpike Lane will be quite unpleasant. It will be interesting to see how things develop!

It would be nice if some of the cyclists on here could curtail their glee just a little bit. People who have no choice but to use their cars will have a very unpleasant time until things settle down.

Yes I found the comment made by someone (sorry I can't remember who or which thread) saying they were cycling up and down Wightman laughing at us 'fatties in cars' to be offensive, rude and unnecessary.

Thanks for flagging that comment up. It was rude and unnecessary and has been deleted.

Well done.

Someone of the glee is coming from cyclists that own cars...

Indeed! In fact my daughter will have started secondary school here before the roadworks finish so in fact I will never take her to primary again using that route. Feels odd but I am sure I'll get used to it. Ive just written to her headmaster and teacher to explain that it may take us a week or two to get a new working route and departure time in place and for that reason to forgive any possible latenesses.

I agree. I didn't have a choice about using my car to get my son to holiday club today and the same for the rest of this week. I'll be lucky if the poor child gets fed before 7pm.
