Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Royal Mail email
Received a Royal Mail email this morning with tracking number. Usually these are phishing scams but no request for personal info ....not sure who gave them my email tho..anyone else get this?

Don't see how it could be anything other than a scam. Probably if you click on the tracking number it will lead you where you don't want to go.

turns out to be the real deal and has been delivered. Looks like Royal Mail has upped its game against the private sector(about time)

So some part of the order/payment/supply/delivery chain has encountered your email address and has used it - perhaps stored from a long-gone transaction? Just a thought.

They pick up your email address from the company you have purchased online from. Yes it's a little surprising at first but you'll get used to it :)

A good way to have an initial check is to hover your mouse, or hold your finger, over the senders name. This should reveal the full email address of the sender. I've had a few that look very genuine from the senders name as it appears in the email but the detail shows a Hotmail address - or PayPal a couple of times

This page on the Royal Mail website may be of interest - and this article from 2013 suggests that email alerts are indeed part of the service now.
