Londoners have been asked to select 10 parks to receive improvement grants of up to £400,000 each.
Mayor Boris Johnson has launched a public vote to select 10 parks from a shortlist of 47. The winners will be made "cleaner, safer and greener".
In addition to the public vote, one park will be given a £2m improvement grant, to be chosen by the mayor. Mr Johnson is due to outline his environmental plans for the city in a speech to the Environment Agency later. The Priority Parks scheme was funded after the mayor scrapped his official newsletter The Londoner earlier this year.
Suggested park improvements include better footpaths, more lighting, new playgrounds, improved cycle routes and plots for growing fruit and vegetables.
