Did anybody else get to this ?
Announced as a chance to hear the " top 5 parties locally, " with representatives from the Greens, the Tories, Labour, Lib-Dem and UKIP, there was also an appearance from the Candidate for the Christian People's Alliance.
The most interesting thing about the entire event was the late arrival of a gentleman who announced himself the founder member of Hoi Polloi who insisted on taking a seat on the stage and being heard.
( The names etc are all listed here.

There was a bit of argy bargy and the threat of having the HP representative removed and a number of likely lads got up to do that, but seeing the size of the gent concerned, they slunk back to their seats.
The police were called, showed up but decided to stay at the back.
The event itself was pretty duff, the mics weren't working, the candidates spoke with all of the conviction and charisma of a self-service till.
The pitches were of the " everyone else will be worse than us," variety and after an hour or so, the pub beckoned.
I don't think it's an advisable view, but I can see why so many people are indifferent to the exercise and why so few young people seem to have engaged.
Anyone seen anything to excite / engage yet ?
Looks busy - I'd forgotten abt this.
I think I preferred Red Wedge ....anyway, it's better than wheeling out Jim Davidson and Paul Daniels !
