Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

With one thing and another I haven't been to Durazzo for a while now. Busy as things are, I just popped down to pick up an order to go for our lunch. I tweeted a hello from Durazzo whilst I was there, but I've just been raving over how good the food is as I ate. So I thought I owed it to Chef Billy to write a quick note to say Bravo and thank you.

We had a pizza Fiorentina and Linguine with huge prawns and zucchini. The pizza crust was great and the topping just right. The pasta was excellent too with the biggest prawns you can buy cooked to perfection.

My comment to my other half was that this place would fit seamlessly into an Italian town as a local Italian eaterie. The number of tables peopled by Italian families when I went in suggests that I may be at least half right on that.

Billy and his team are also wonderfully welcoming and they put their heart and soul into running Durazzo.

And how much did our lunch cost? £13.10, yes just £13.10. Incredible value for what you get.

Highly recommended.

Go!

I very much agree with this - it is excellent.

Yep. Went there for Saturday supper a few weeks ago and the place was heaving with Italian families. I lived in Italy for a while and this is what we call 'proper Italian.' Lovely friendly service and great value.
I agree very good, not many opportunities to drink beer from Sardegna!

Only fault is thier artichokes, otherwise Mwa!

A few times so far and we have never been disappointed

I totally disagree.

I really dont understand this nonsense about the ubiquitous giant prawn, which are usually farmed in the far east. The bigger the better, never mind the flavour, or how they are farmed. Tasteless and rubbery, yuck - give me one Dublin bay prawm any day.

I ate there once and I can't say the pizza is fantastic. The crust is almost decent but the ingredients' quality is poor.

I would like to have in Harringay something like Franco Manca. If you have a change try the pizza there. That's a real italian quality.

Yup. Fantastic meal last night , wonderful birthday serenading for an 8 year old girl as well. Felt like being in Italy. Not posh or fancy but welcoming and tasty.
