Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all

We are moving to the area next week and I am looking at sorting out a broadband package for a place on Lausanne Road.

I am currently with a private company so will need to move to something like BT, Virgin or Zen.

The flat we are moving into already has Virgin wired up to it.

What are people on the Ladder using and which packages are you going for?  Looking for something reliable & fast, no traffic shaping or caps.

I'm on BT Infinity package which includes 24/7 phone calls local and national and 0845 plus Bt vision with hard drive recorder. Cost £50 per month approx. there are probably better deals out there but fyi the broadband is fast and reliable.

Cheers Philip, what speed up and down are you getting?

Uswitch test now tells me down 26.4 up 10.5

Ahh no too bad!  If you don't mind me asking, which road are you on?

Langham just behind the tube station. Not strictly Ladder but .....

We're with Virgin. £57 monthly. Includes home phone unlimited free calls 7 days a week (not 0845/mobile), large tv package, tivo, broadband 50mb.

It's cheaper of course if you choose lower tv package, lower broadband and if no talk unlimited.

Hi Justine, have you had any issues with Virgin at all in terms of reliability of service?

We've been with them for over 10 years and have always had a good service. On the odd occasion when there has been a problem, it's always been fixed quickly.

Ahh great, thanks for that.

By the way, the £57 includes line rental. Without line rental, it is £47 monthly for tv, tivo, broadband, free calls all week. I pay line rental a year in advance as it's cheaper as works out about £10 monthly instead of £16.

Only negative with Virgin is you don't get Sky Atlantic!

I'm with Virgin, 50Mb download (which you tend to achieve in off-peak hours, normally about 30Mb in peak) plus phone and TV for about £45 a month.

Normally reliable but it is currently down and has been for the past week. As it's cable I've also had no TV for a week.

i just upgraded my virgin media package to their new "big kahuna" deal:

152mb fibre-optic broadband

hd tivo box with a gajillion channels (inc BT Sports)

free weekend calls to landlines and virgin mobile numbers

all for £45 per month + £15.99 line rental.
