Good question Phil and its one I have though about for a long time.
I did some research in terms of the employment law and it looks like I am allowed time to do Councillor duties during term dates. I also spoke to my headteacher, who was very supportive and ensured me that workload and timetable can be arranged accordingly. He actually knows Seven Sisters Ward really well as he used to be the deputy head at Gladesmore School.
Being a Councillor is something that I am quite passionate about and am wiling to sacrifice my own time to in a way demonstrate how a Councillor should work. Also there will be a team of people helping me and supporting me with my role. All of these reasons makes it worthwhile.
