I suppose the Virgin service is more reliable here in Tottenham than in Haringay because I've rarely had issues and I can be at home and online or in front of internet TV during the week ! Our speeds are due to go up again soon too! I agree with a previous post that the VM phone service is a rip off!

But with VM you have access to wi fi on the tube though! And They do provide relatively good customer response times despite the parrot like overseas (india?) call centres!

Billy you get BT sport on Virgin...I know I get it. Looked it up on their website...

Calling all sports fans! BT Sport is now live on Virgin TV (channels 529-530 and 547-550) giving you the chance to tune in to some of the biggest games and matches on the planet. And the even better news is BT Sport comes at no extra cost with our TV XL package, which you get with our Premiere and VIP Collections.

Or, if you have your eye on TV M, TV M+ or TV L, you can add all 6 channels for just £15 a month.

I've been with Virgin for 5 years or so on the Ladder and probably had less than an outage a year (the lengthiest being when some builders chopped through the cable).

Their prices are creeping up which is annoying but for heavy broadband usage they seem the only decent option.

Hey Andrew

What speeds are you getting with Virgin?  Im moving to the area and looking into my options now.

Just had my broadband "supercharged" to 50Mb yesterday. Overall bundle is relatively expensive because of phone line rental but have had very good service responses from VM and in this part of Haringey we've had no issues with service interruptions.
Funnily enough my brother wants to leave BT and join VM.
If you get TV from the aerial ten I suppose you are getting FREEview and shouldn't be paying or it. On demand TV via broadband? Is that internet TV then? I can also get that.

Hi JJ B

Can you tell me what speeds your getting via the Speed Tests and if its wired or wireless, you can use something like this: http://www.speedtest.net/uk/

54 Mbps crouch end

32 dwn and 2 up with ipad mini. Not sure if 50mb up and running yet as only did it last night. May take up to 4 days.

55Mbps down, 3Mbps up.

This is thw base broadband and tv/tivo package which is about £45 per month.

Speeds get capped quite quickly in peak times but there is no limit off-peak

Thanks for that guys, good to get an idea of what its like.

we have Talk Talk for broadband, TV and landline. Live TV comes from the aerial so you need to have a working aerial (and make sure it points in the right direction... OK, this is another thread). On Demand TV comes through the broadband though. Touching wood - we have had no problems with their broadband at all. None of the switch off/switch back on nonsense that we used to get with Virgin. Ah yes - and they are a lot cheaper than Virgin too.

Which is actually asking for people to take part in their study on slow and problematic broadband....
