Also, on Sunday mornings there's a large flea market on Rue de Bretagne that doesn't yet seem to be on the tourist trail. Starts from Square du Temple and runs almost all the way to Rue de Turenne. Lots of good places to eat along the way and the added bonus of the Pompiers from the local fire station selling raffle tickets for something or other (well, I find it a draw)
Fete de l'Huma takes place in the northern working class suburb of La Courneuve and had some 600 000 people attend the last one.
But Communist party has lost traction in France and many working class people now support the extreme right Front National party in the same way that people here support the UKIP policies.
Half french and total londonner and Tottenhamite!
"Un nouveau venu dans l’univers des marchés londoniens et une couverture média très flatteuse. On y trouve des produits frais de saison à des prix raisonnables et l’une des meilleures « street food » de la capitale anglaise. Pas snob, pas chichiteux. Juste authentique."
Translate as

A new comer to the London market scene and its had very flattering media coverage. You'll find fresh seasonal produce at reasonable prices and some of the best street food in the English capital city. Not snobby or 'chichiteux'. Just authentic.'>>

Hopefully everyone gets chichiteux!

Well done to Arringaie Marche!

I must admit I had to  look up "chichiteux" ...! Does that roughly translate as "fussy"?

It's an extension of the word 'chi chi' - I suppose you could translate it as pretentious. I.e. the market is not at all pretentious.

haha, amazing! the English language could do with a word with all those connotations
