Burglaries in Hermitage Road
Just warning neighbours in the area as there have been 2 burglaries and an another attempt in Hermitage Road (N4) in the past couple of months - the last one today. Both times burglars have broken into through the front door in complete day light.
Police have been round a few times during this time to check whether neighbours have heard/seen anything and advising on securing locks and making sure nothing is visible from the outside.
This 2011 article about another burglary spike in Hermitage Road is worth reading - 11 houses were broken into and two more attempted burglaries in November and December 2010!

I know, especially when they break into the neighbour's and we were at home! We heard nothing whatsoever. Which makes it even more unsettling.

I suppose it's the sort of thing that can easily be dismissed as part of the ambient noise of a fairly busy area. I probably wouldn't go and check something out unless there was a sustained period of noise.

Thank you for the heads-up. I was burgled, alongside a couple of close neighbours, down towards the Green Lanes end of Hermitage Road last summer. Very unsettling to hear there are chancers at it again, but thanks for the forewarning to be aware.
