Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Following a couple of discussions on here about Green lanes, I emailed a few people from the Green Lanes Strategy Group about some of the issues raised, including the possibility of a festival. Nilgun Canver, the chair, emailed me back with the following,
"...we have plans to organise a Grand Parade festival. I have already had initial discussions about the possibility of closing a section of the Grand Parade to traffic with relevant officers and Cllr. Haley. The main concern they have is around the busses. This item will be on the agenda for the next GLSG meeting on 23 Sept. As you’re interested we’ll keep you informed of the progress. If we decide to go ahead with the festival I’m sure amongst others we’ll need your help too."
Hooray, time to iron the kaftan. We'll be salsaing down Grand Parade yet!

Oh I think a lot of us will be there to help. Don't worry about that. Let's see where the council are taking this first. They'll probably set up a Working Group.
This could be the opportunity HoL needs to really promote HoL to a the wider population of Green Lanes, a HoL stall? Laptop with the website showing photos and films of 1920s GL etc?? I like the idea of a community venue on GP -
Pipedream: Iceland shuts down and the council gives HoL the money to take it over.
And when will this Festival take place..? 2008 or 2009??

@Hugh.. I'm sorry I go about it, but I don't have the luxury of 'off the record' chats with you all (behind a beer glass). But that doesn't mean that I don't care about what happens to GPde... Don't forget.. I knew of it before you all.. what I mean by that is.. I do worry about its future and how it is (n't) preserved...
I know you care mate. Wot's to be sorry for. You gotta promise to be here though!
As I'm given any info, I'll let people know but I guess it will be next year.
