Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just had Ray of Lordship Joiners come round to look at a piece of work I need doing and he told me about having discussed doing some work for a previous owner of my house. As an aside he mentioned that at the time he was here last there was a Ray Winstone film being shot right outside the house.

So, I had a quick sqiz to find it and here it is.... Face, 1997. All sorts of name you would know in there. I managed to have a look on Youtube and found this clip (3mins) of the shootout scene on Mattison, Pemberton and possibly Warham. I will have to try to find the full film. Great shots of the street while it was 2 way traffic... Enjoy!

He also said Alexi Sayle shot something round here (bottom of Pemberton) at some point, any clues what it was?

Here's a list of Harringay's filmography I added to my Wikipedia article on the 'hood.

(I don't remember, was there really that much litter in the Passage back then or was it made to look 'gritty urban'?)

I should have thought you would have it covered Hugh...

Yes, plenty of litter, notable absence of dog crap!

Not covered, merely mentioned. Thanks for reminding me and bringing it to people's attention. Who, after all, reads Wikipedia! it's great to see the footage. Thanks for digging that out

One of the actors Phil Davis lives on Weston Park, Crouch End.

I had Ray over at the weekend and he was telling me all sorts of stories. Nice chap.

If anyone is interested I have an original cinema release poster for this film - to sell. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119092/

The condition is good, it has been folded, but very good condition otherwise. Would look great framed.

The size is a UK quad (40 x 30 inches). Anyone interested? Make me an offer. Cheers.

here's another angle...on Mattison Rd, a lot of 80's reg vehicles...

Were they aiming at the real estate boards?

do you think they cleaned up all the dog poo before they let them run through the passage way? lol

What, and scattered litter behind instead to make it look more urban and gritty...

A great film :)

I've just bought a copy on Amazon for £5. Maybe we should get it screened at the Sailsbury?

I would be up for that.  I am in there on Friday for Harringay Dad's if you are around? Will mention it to the owner when I see him.
