Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Delays expected on Green Lanes as urgent repairs carried out on New River Bridge

Works are being undertaken by LB Hackney to carry out urgent repairs to the bridge over the New River. These will begin on February 18th and last approximately three weeks.

Temporary traffic lights will be in use, manually controlled at peak hours.

There is likely to be congestion and delays to your journey, including those undertaken by buses using Green Lanes.

Also some new cable company has been painting little red marks all over the Ladder roads - apparently they are going to dig them all up quite soon. Chaos ahead, it seems!

Not a great start as they seemed to manage to burst the water main while putting up barriers and traffic lights.   It does not bode well for the three weeks.

It's not just Green Lanes that's affected, drivers heading northbound are showing no consideration for traffic on the Seven Sisters Road at Manor House, and are driving across Seven Sisters irrespective of whether they can clear the junction.

As a result, they end up blocking the junction, leading to massive queues on the northbound Seven Sisters Road, which on Monday was backed up all the way to Hornsey Road.

There are box junction markings on three out of the four quadrants of the junction, covering Green Lanes going southbound, but the northbound side only has the markings on the southbound side of Seven Sisters road. You'd think people could work out for themselves that blocking a junction is a bad idea whether or not it's banned...

I'm a cyclist but the effects are so bad I'm getting stuck in the traffic too!
