I noticed one of the Coliseum flats for sale today and thought folk might be interested to see what they look like inside. Full details here

"Iconic"?

perhaps that's shorthand for "anuglyblockofflatsthatreplaced an iconic building"?

Or a misspelling of ironic.

Add a few ionic columns to the front and Greek icons in the lobby to make it truly iconic and more classical than the Coliseum.

£300K for a place where you have to cook in your living room ?

Or live in a kitchen?

Interior photos shot with very very wide-angle lenses, so as to make rooms appear larger than they are. Doesn't look as if there's room to swing a cat. Pokey, modern, ugly, every bit as horrible inside as outside. Another triumph for Paul Simon Developers, the "local" firm busily wrecking the urban environment of Haringey.

.......but actually, it looks like quite a decent flat, I thought.

The pictured is the 'penthouse' at the top. I've been inside a one-bedroomed flat on a lower floor and it is a decent, spacious, well-designed flat. The insulation is so good that I expect heating is hardly used.

One particularly good feature is the use and placement of the panel of glass bricks between the entry and the kitchen, allowing light to fall further than otherwise.

IMO they are significantly more attractive inside than out: the outside could be described as indifferent, but residents don't see that. The lobby is spectacular; the main drawback of living there is noise.

Fair dos, Hugh and Clive, I'm only judging by the photos, but you must admit that they did use a very wide angle lens, and in the pictures the rooms don't look very large. I was curious about your comment on the lobby being spectacular, but that living in it is noisy. I mean, do people live in the lobby? Do they come in the evening and set up tents or something? I think we should be told.

You have a very low threshold of " spectacular " Clive

How about, "dramatic" or "impressive" ?

What did you think about the light-well John?

And the unusual lift doors?
