Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A few weeks ago, Liz, Hugh, Adam and I carried out an audit of Harringay Passage with Chris Barker from Haringey Safer Streets.  It only took a couple of hours but we managed to pick a lot of things up and compiled the attached report .

The report has gone to Michael McNicholas, Tony Chapman and Michael Sanderson at Haringey and to our ward members and Nilgun Canver as Cabinet Member for Environment asking for a site meeting asap on how to take it forward.

This is really the start of the process and we want Haringey to look at how they can plan improvements by involving everyone who lives near or uses the Passage.

This is very positive - one quick observation which I mentioned to Liz (when I saw her on the passage!) re:

16. Beresford (junction): b. The crossing should be narrower it is almost double the width of other crossings on the Passage

The configuration of the crossing is different on Beresford Road because it is the only junction where there are two houses with garages adjoining the Passage, hence the road is slightly wider than elsewhere.

Michael, did you ever hear anything back from the Council on this?

Not a sausage. Adam and Liz, anything come your way?

Who did you submit it to?

Hugh, I have a very long email chain on this which I will forward separately when I work out how to do it on an iPad.

Little arrow leaping out of a box at the the bottom of the page.

Got it. Looks like a follow up with Cllr Alexander might be the thing then.

Karen, did you do your follow up walk with Tony Chapman of the Council's Neighbourhood Action Team?
