Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
The ugliest buildings in Harringay/Haringey?
The Daily Telegraph posted a collection of photos asking: Are these the ugliest buildings in the world? From the twenty-one so far, the buildings seem to be love-em-or-hate-em examples. Including of course, the ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture and observation tower at the London 2012 Olympic Park.
Anyone like to suggest local examples of detestable or I've-learned-to-love-it buildings with in-our-faces photographic evidence?

From the HIgh Road just north of Wood Green station there's a certain view of the court roof in the distance where it looks like some bizarre giant constructivist spaceship that's randomly landed in the middle of a quiet suburb. I eventually went on a pilgrimage to find this bizarre building, and was a bit disappointed.

I do agree and the huge blank ugly wall helps to cut off the little row of shops that follow it. Jane Jacobs would be spinning if she saw such people hating development.

@james walsh I used to work in Stevenage and it's ugly but I'd say Cumbernauld would beat it hands down.
Agree with Liz about that building opposite the Salisbury.

Not just existing buildings - have you seen the development proposals for Wards Corner and Lawrence Road in Tottenham?!

How about the New River housing estate thingie with it's horrid bright panels, square edges, and nasty interior strip lights in the corridors (which can be seen from the road). Or the new Library on Colney Hatch Lane... Both are shockers! The housing estate is worse though... Even that which was the pumping house has apparently been ruined inside. A wasted opportunity to do something nice with that land.

The Council HQ buildings and William Hill HQ in Station Rd in Wood Green - and to top the trinity of mediocrity the Middlesex Uni Halls Opposite flanked by the giant grey rabbit hutch - or 'residential development' next to it.
How these buildings ever got off the planning table to construction is a mystery. I'll post pictures later
