Despite support from the local community, including Islington North's MP Jeremy Corbyn, the planned new theatre in Finsbury Park is facing police objections to its application for a late licence.

Great to have a new theatre in the area and all that it entails. But a late licence is something different and I'm on the side of the police on this one. A licence till 2 am will mean people drinking and making noise till almost 3am. Theatre is theatre- that will be finished I presume around 11.
It could attract folk after then just for the drinking. It could be an unpleasant addition to the troubles of area.
Yes to the theatre, no to the late licence.
