Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'm not asking to be allowed to celebrate Christmas, mention Jesus or display the cross but still it would be nice to at least have a tree outside the Salisbury again.

It would be lovely to have a proper Christmas tree again. With carol singers too!

It's here. Apparently Dave was keen for it to be there on the 1st Dec but the council were overstretched.

The lights go on with carols and mulled wine on the 13th Dec. Rejoice!

What time do the carols start on the 13th?

Not sure - traditionally afternoon I think but pop into the pub and I'm sure they'll know

Jolly good! Well done to Dave.

It was actually the council who organised this one not Dave - The Salisbury tree is inside the pub and looks even more resplendent.

Hopefully the Council gets over itself and allows the word 'Christmas' to appear somewhere around the tree.

It's not 'winter festival' time or something 'seasonal'. It's Christmas! With Christ being the key word!

What makes you think the council has something against the word Christmas? A quick search on the Haringey Council website suggests that Christmas is very much what is coming. Curious to know why you think this?

It has been conspicuously absent from the tree is recent years with associated signage referring to seasons etc.

I think that's more down to the 'traders' than the council Oli.

Is it traditional where you come from for the Christmas tree to have the word 'Christmas' written on it? That's a new one on me.

Blimey, there is some moany people on here.

‘There’s no tree’
‘But there is a tree’
’Well it doesn’t have the word Christmas on it’

You would almost think they are deliberately looking for something to get arsey about.
