Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi,

Does London/Haringey have a newspaper or magazine equivalent to what The New Yorker is for New York or the Chicago Reader is for Chicago?

By equivalent, I mean broad in terms of topics (news, culture, etc.), but which somehow is centred around the city.

Maybe Londoncentric would fit? I haven't read it, but Jim Waterson is a good journo

Well worth subscribing to, he's broken a number of good stories

City AM might suit your needs.

Have you tried https://haringeycommunitypress.co.uk/ ?

It's a great local resource

London Review of Books - https://www.lrb.co.uk/ for culture/current affairs (don't think The New Yorker exactly does news, more current affairs as well as the literary/cultural theme).

News - what Amit above said.

Also OnLondon  https://www.onlondon.co.uk/

https://www.the-londoner.co.uk/ The Londoner is good  -if you sign up for the mailing list you get some articles free so you can see if you like it

Thanks all for the suggestions. I did know some of these magazines, but others are just new to me. I'll check them out. At a glance I suppose The Londoner is the closest thing to what I mentioned, but they all are interesting!

The Ham & High: I find the website pretty rudimentary these days, you might check out a paper version in case it has more arts and culture copy.

The Camden New Journal is free if you can lay your hands on a copy.

I did check out the H&H paper (Waitrose Holloway Road) and it does have arts/culture, an events listing and so on. A pretty reasonable £1.10.
