Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A little walk to the shops and back a few days back and it felt like Spring. I spotted an early butterfly and a Queen bee enjoying crocuses in a pot in someone's front garden, proving, yet again, that even the smallest effort such as putting some crocus bulbs in a flower pot can make a big difference in these early days of Spring when the food is a little scarce and temperatures fluctuate.

As usual the sight and scent of the Silver Wattle (Acadia dealbata) in Pemberton Road lifted my spirits.

A little plea here, no matter how tempting to cut a bit off, to leave the blossom on the trees for the insects. This tree will be part of the food network for local bees.

Making my way home, I spot the bright yellow of the daffodils complementing the darker, deeper oranges of the calendula

Plus the first buds are swelling on the rowan trees
