When we first moved into our house, we found a Kelly's post office directory from 1935 in the attic which I unearthed again today. It lists all the addresses in the then Hornsey borough and who was the head of household.
Our house was occupied by Arthur Jackson for instance. What is also fascinating is that there was a synagogue on Wightman Road (the current church opposite the mosque) and a lot of residents with German or jewish names living on the ladder (remember, this was 1935).
The unfortunate resident of 26 Priory Gardens N6 was one Mrs Hitler, who I'm sure changed her name by 1939.
If you want to know who lived in your house or anyother address in 1935, just let me know.

Hello Michael, is there any data for 201 Wightman?
The listing jumps 201 so it was either vacant then or the occupants wished to remain anonymous
Thanks Michael, is there a chance that the house was listed as "Abbotsford" which was its address before the street was numbered?
Named houses and buildings are listed in the order they appear in the street so Abbotsford would have appeared between 199 and 203.
Fascinated to see this thread and I read through to check if anyone had previously asked. I no longer live in Harringay but could you please look up who lived at:
66 Raleigh Road
and
37 Sydney Road
please Micheal?
66 Raleigh Road was occupied by Mrs Chrisella and 37 Sydney by Walter A Thorogood.
Wow! Thank you so much! This could, once again, become a full time job for you. Sincere thanks.
😊
Amazing! I have ALWAYS wanted to know who may have lived in our house, and have never been able to find out, as I suspect the house numbers may have changed over the years...
We're at 118 Station Road, N22. We're directly opposite Wood Green common, in the middle of the row of houses that overlook the park, that sit between the end of Barratt Avenue and the bridge that goes over the new river. The house nearest Barratt Avenue is currently 108 Station road - so we're another 5 doors up - ie the 6th house in the row, if that helps locate us!
Fascinated to know if 118 Station Road exists in your book, Michael?! Thanks so much, Natalie
I’m afraid it doesn’t cover that area Natalie
We moved in to 86 Frobisher in 1946. An old lady was living in the top flat - I think Mrs (Louise?) Bagot. She died in that year and we took over the whole house. Who had been in the main part before I do not know. The house had been slightly damaged by the V1 which took out the houses opposite in Willoughby Lane and required ours to be underpinned. The workmen did that in the winter of 47 - must have been hell!
Next door at 88 were the Evans family; at 90 before the the Regal cinema were the Perry family. Next to us at 84 were the sisters Sharp.
