A&E courtyard statue? (Gate post relic from St. Mary's Infirmary, Highate Hill)

Anybody having the misfortune to visit A&E in Archway may have noticed this statue come shrine in the central courtyard looking down from the waiting room.

Does anybody know what it is ?

I think it's a stone gatepost moved and saved from the former hospital building - it's a poor photograph but you can make out some detail here -  and a slightly better version, in the Highgate Hill Infirmary section.

When I was a hospital volunteer at the Whit the HR office where you had your ID card done was in the old Jenner Building.  I can’t imagine what it must have been like to be a patient there!

We knew how to build back then, how much more beautiful Archway must have been.

I hope your visit ended positively.

Thanks so much guys, nobody knew anything at the Hospital themselves.
Fantastic community response !

Since I couldn't stop picking at this, I've now added to my content and moved the whole lot to a new post in the History Group.
