Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

My road - and the Passages off it - are covered in dog(?) poo. Has anyone else noticed? I am not even sure if they are being 'left' by animals. Some are so big I wonder if they come from a human(s). What to do? Other than putting up little posters, I am not sure - to be fair to them - what the Council can do. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Justin

I am not sure they are all dog poo. The bigger ones are more likely human. I saw a lot around Pemby some time back and thought it was taxi drivers but a few folks have suggested they are druggies.
As an aside. If you are a dog owner keep your dogs well away, I have been told there may well be heroin in the poo!

I noticed them too. They are big and some seemed to have straw in. I wonder if it's that band of wild horses we used to get on Falkland?

I've noticed it too. Effingham has become a poo minefield.

There's also been the same light beige coloured poos down Fairfax and occasionally Falkland.

I personally suspected it's from a dog as the humans that poo around here generally more discreet and stick to front gardens and the Harringay passage.

I'm also at a loss at how to stop it as it's likely a local resident walking their dog and not caring that the street is being filled with their dog's poo so I doubt a poster would work.

The poo can be reported to the council for clean up within 24 hours, but the root cause of the problem needs tackling.

To that, in certain parts of Spain, dogs are registered with their DNA sequenced. Uncollected poo is sampled and the DNA sequence from the poo allows the irresponsible dog owners to be fined. Maybe London or the UK should follow suit.

A Ladder road had a dog waste problem (well, a dog owner problem) two years ago: Haringey put up a temporary CCTV camera on a lamp post plus several warning notices, and that seems to have fixed the problem.

I feel your pain. I'm on Fairfax Road and in the last week I've reported poo 6 times on my road or the passage. . One gets cleared up and then a few hours later it's another one  Fairfax also has the huge ones. I've messaged Veolia to ask if they could put up signs . But probably CCTV or patrolling is the only way to resolve it.

Several councillors are on the case. I still refuse to believe they are animal deposits...

Thanks. I see the deposits are back. I was only raising it with Gina, a neighbour and ward councillor, today.

Sounds like a job for Mr Sankung.

Even a witchdoctor would draw the line at cleaning up junkie turds.

Is that where they come from? Are you sure?
