After closure for a thorough refurbishment, Stroud Green and Harringay library will be re-opening.
A lift has been installed for the first time, facilitating access to three new community rooms at first floor level. These will be a great asset and focal point for all sorts of local groups and organisations.
On Saturday 4th December, in a community-organised day, Michael Rosen (author, poet and former Children’s Laureate) will lead the celebrations for the re-opening starting 12 noon. Michael will give a short talk, followed by some readings from his work. There will also be a Street Festival in the adjacent section of Quernmore Road between 11am and 4pm.
Finally, on Monday 6th December, there will be a short Civic Ceremony in which the Mayor of Haringey (Cllr. Adam Jogee) will also re-open the library on behalf of the borough.
(Thank you to the LCSP for the details of this event)
