For the last few weeks there has been an awful smell of sewage on green lanes…at the bottom of Seymour towards Hewitt road, outside Snug cafe. Today I saw actual sewage piled up on the street presumably coming from a back up sewer and may be related to the rain last night. I have tried reporting to Thames water but can’t get through to them. Is this is the responsibility of TW or the council…and any other ideas on what to do about it? Surely it’s a public health and hygiene issue not to mention very unpleasant!

Cannot help answered your question directly but given the amount of grill / frying based restaurants nearby I wonder if we will hear about some fat burger blocking the drains nearby.
If you get no where with Thames Water try the council Env Health folks! Or, use the Love Clean Streets Ap. I find they are pretty efficient at dealing with stuff reported this way, I guess because there is an accountability trail. Good luck.
Mite have just bean where a junkie relived himself
I don’t think so, it’s been going on for a couple of weeks
It's Thames Water if it is a waste sewer. You can report online https://www.thameswater.co.uk/help/emergencies/blockages/report-a-b...
It's a serious problem, the sewage is not only collecting on the road, but passing traffic is spraying it back up onto the pavement into the path of pedestrians, I can't believe it's still happening after a few weeks! I actually notified Haringey council about this today, using the online form here: https://www.haringey.gov.uk/contact/out-hours-emergencies/environme...
I just walked past this tonight - it’s absolutely disgusting to see, and of course reeks. I had noticed the smell a week or so ago but thought it was a bad drain. I’ve just reported it using the Haringey environmental emergency site mentioned in a previous post.
So grim. You’d have assumed the businesses on that stretch would be hopping mad - the smell is so off putting.
thanks Alison, ive also now reported to the Thames water link online so I hope it gets sorted!
I’ve reported on love clean streets too, though noticed an earlier report on there (12/8 I think) for the same thing - it was marked as closed on account of it being passed to Thames Water. Have tweeted as well and got a reply quite quickly, she says she’ll investigate ...
Dear All
I have just sent an email to the Head of Highways reporting this. If it is Thames Water, they will, I am sure, contact them directly. If it is Haringey's responsibility then they are the right service and must deal with it.

Thanks Zena. I’ve now had a reply from Thames who have acknowledged that they have had a number of reports about this and she is ‘looking into it’. I’ll let you know when I hear more. Beyond a flood it’s hard to know what’s more urgent than this.
Update from Thames Water: We have attended but need to work with a local resident as we need access to some of their assets to complete the job. This would explain why it's taking a bit longer than usual.
Thanks Alison
I had a reply from Highways, and have now asked for a full update on this since they have also contacted Thames Water.
