Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Visitors Parking Permits - no 2021 to scratch
Hello! So I have lots of visitors permits due to this years pandemic and no one coming to visit us.. I have only noticed that there is no 2021 year to scratch off- will Haringey council give people some leeway as surely no one has been able to use many visitors permits In 2020?
I was thinking I could just clearly write the year 2021 on the tickets?
Is there someone from the council that could advise? I have been trying to contact Haringey council about this but have not heard back.

I came here to sarcastically point out it was Tuesday again, only to find I'd completely missed the news from last week! Thanks v much for chasing this up Zena.
Still can't see any word on the website though. Would be good to have official confirmation in case any over-zealous wardens need setting straight.

Thanks for being on top of this. I wrote to the Director of Environment right away, since I had an assurance on Friday that the policy was being changed, enforcement officers briefed and the website changed. I got a reply by return saying:
We are dealing with this as quickly as possible. The matter is with our communications team and the website will be updated to reflect the changes in the very near future.
I will remain firmly on the case. I will be asking about the position as of today if people use their 2020 vouchers and get ticketed.

The toes and tail of Haringeysaurus can sometimes be prodded and tickled in the right places.
It may waken for a few moments, stagger to its feet and take a couple of steps in the right direction. Before sinking down and curling up again.

I sent mine back, hoping to get them replaced with ones with 2021 etc. But unfort the council returned them to me, telling me I can use them until June. It's all a bit bonkers. Now I will have to send them back again when I don't use them until June.
The point for me is not covid, it's that I paid for them and I should be able to use them, whenever I want regardless of year. Why is the year included when it changes? Could the council ask the user to write it in pen? It does seem that the council are creating a lot of work for them and us, for no real benefit.
Grateful for you keeping an eye on this.

Hi everyone, I admit to feeling cautious about using one of the 2020 visitor permits, since I know how thorough the parking wardens can be!. Has anyone had experience in recent weeks of using one, please? Did it all go smoothly? Thank you.

Used one last week - but also printed off the info that were valid til June 2021 off this site and put that next to scratch permit! No problem

Hi Everyone
I have checked the position regarding visitors' permits. This is from the Council website:
Important notice about visitor permits with a 2020 expiry date
We have agreed to allow the use of visitors permits expiring at the end of 2020 for a further 6 months.
This means that you can use expired visitor permits until the end of June 2021. You will no longer need to return these to us to exchange for new vouchers.
Important: when using 2020 visitors permits, please make sure that you scratch off the correct date and arrival time on the permit. You do not need to scratch off the year.
We will review the situation in June and hopefully resume normal arrangements.

Hi Zena, thanks for your persistence about getting the extension for visitor parking permits. I wonder if you might clarify what the position is from tomorrow, July 1st, please? I suspect I'm not the only one with a large number of unused 2020 permits. Many thanks.
