Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Been plenty of adverts and notice a growing number around Noel Park area

Biggest joke are the ones that have No working lights and users dress in Black

Recently read a Police statement that they currently account for around 4 % of Street crime

Had several near misses when users pavement hop or try to pass in congested traffic areas

Would not be such a issue if they had visible lighting and wore a reflective jacket

Will be interesting to see what would happen in the case of a accident with one of them ?

I believe they are actually illegal (still- unless that changed recently).

I watched a young woman coming down Pemberton a week or two back, she was fair going a lick down the hill. As she came to the speed bump you could see she was in trouble, small scooter wheels meets high hump and high center of gravity. She went head over heel and gashed her leg from what I could see- she refused help...

Can't you find something else to grumble about?

Shed-loads of things, IanB.

In paragraphs.

With "Joke is".

But it's not.

And Councillors(') expenses.

Bob's employment by Haringey Council is noted, though.

ex-employment?

Past employment, yes. Thanks.

They are the future for transport solutions. All regulations that govern cycling will be what governs scooters.
The police have given up trying to police scooters during CoVid, makes sense really, better than them getting public transport.

Not at all, the head of the Met Police announced only this week they're clamping down harder on them.

They're not overly fast, or stable, and without suspension, lights etc which makes them fairly unsuitable for use on busy and potholed London roads. They'll never be allowed on pavements. I really can't see a single advantage they have over an electric bike, or even a standard one!

Definitely agree they shouldn’t be on the pavements. But for modern travel solutions to move forward scooters are just the first step. Governments will have to allow them and the way we move from A\B will change. Scooters with the right proficiency will be as safe as a bike. Concentration once legislated by the government should be on proficiency.

Sometimes a nuisance - but generally it's car drivers that kill people.

(But get the bit about anti-social behaviour)

Some t&@ser on an e-scooter nearly flattened my riding on the pavement the other day - this thing must've been doing 20mph...

My issue is most do not  have lights and most dress in black

I live near a school, and have several adults riding them on and off foot way

Plus many elderly people

Worst one near me has a seat and larger wheels. a Real pavement hopper

Especially around school time. Must admit not seen him for a few weeks

Worst is they are so quite and often worse than food courier bikers for weaving in and out of Traffic

Yes in a Cycle lane with lights Not issue. On pavements or hopping on and off yes
