Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

68-69 Grand Parade

The application for a change of use from A1(retail) to A3 (restaurant) and the amalgamation of the two premises to create a double sized restaurant, has been refused planning permission. It remains to be seen whether the applicants will appeal to the Planning Inspectorate.

63-64 Grand Parade

This site has been empty for some time, and was formerly the double size restaurant Mezzo. It will now be converting to a grocery store, with a bakery, butchers and off-licence incorporated. To the rear will be a very small seating area for half a dozen customers, for the consumption of bakery items.

435 Green Lanes

This site has been empty since it was previously occupied by William Hill. It is converting to an organic grocery, and will be opening very shortly. There are no planning implications as it is reverting from ‘sui generis’ to A1. Also, see this discussion on HoL.

Thanks to Ian Sygrave for the updates.

Good to see several gambling shops have shut down here and there.... so many more to go.

And here in Bruce Grove (BG) we have some company that wants to use a huge retail shop to convert into a 'games parlour' (i.e a gambling shop by another name).
