Seems council have put a coloured crossing outside Nags Head pub. High Road .N22

Yet can not fill in pot holes and make road safe to use

This has now become a big enough issue for the BBC to produce a report about the abuse -

Though if you don't trust the BBC to produce an objective, balanced report, down the purity spiral rabbit-hole [link] we go.

Purity spiral now in full swirl, see the last few posts above, e.g. "no wonder they have their funding 'slashed' " and the continuing trans activists diversion.

Every council in the country has had its funding 'slashed' in the last decade - nothing to do with what social policies they espouse, or which party is in control. Reduced by half in a decade. David Cameron got a very shirty open letter about it from (Conservative) Oxfordshire county council, since he was MP for an Oxfordshire constituency.

That's a very useful term, thanks. Purity spiral, I mean. I could guess what you meant but I hadn't come across it.

Hopefully users of this forum can see that other than a handful of habitual rabble-rousers, most people are eminently reasonable.

Fair enough, folks, to mark LGBT History Month in February and Women's History Month in March as innovatively as the remains of our Council Tax will allow.  But I foresee troubles ahead. When we get to Black History Month in October what will become of all our Zebra Crossings, and how many innocent, Council Tax paying pedestrians will die as a result?

Meanwhile, I have kept a pet zebra in our back garden shed for years and he's becoming a bit dowdy. I'm in a quandary as to whether my Richard-Of-York-Gained-Battles-In-Vain re-striping project for Animal History Month should begin at the head or the tail. Please try to be positive. With all due respect to Richard Plantegenet, Yours mnemonically OAE.

That is just so typical of Haringey Council, goes on about shortages of everything, then wastes money on things like this. It’s not people being miserable, or picking about subjects which if anyone says anything they are being anti this that or the other, I and so many others it seems, would say the same about anything being done that was unnecessary, when so many other things need sorting out in the borough!

Maybe if the Council hadn't spent our money on painting the crossing they might have had enough to fix the Belisha beacons on Wightman and Endymion ?

Yes.

Oh FFS classic whataboutery, ...maybe if they didn't plant all those bloody trees everywhere with TAXPAYER money...  ...maybe if they didn't spend TAXPAYER money on removing graffiti... maybe if the spiv banks hadn't wrecked the place the TAXPAYER wouldn't have had to bail them out. Maybe if the spivs didn't dodge tax then ye would be drowning in lovely Belisha beacons.

Believe funds would had been better spent having a weekend event . Keeping people better informed. Understand the plastic coloured plastic is already being ripped off. By traffic and bad weather

I reported a pothole using the online reporting feature of the council website late on Tuesday night. It's been filled in already.

Now, one could argue that we shouldn't have to report them.

But I don't think the council is unwilling to prioritise potholes.

Approaching the end of the Municipal financial year. Perhaps some pressure to spend an allocated budget?
No. That must be wrong. Such a stupid and dysfunctional way of doing things couldn't possibly happen, could it?
