Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A subject very dear to my heart.I am reposting this from the excellent Neighbourhoods blog by Kevin Harris:

Sustrans DIY Streets project is due to complete this coming March 2010 and staff are trying to establish whether there is a need for an ongoing programme. So if you live in the UK you're invited to complete a quick online survey about being involved in bringing about improvements to your street.

The survey is very quick with an option to leave an email to get updates.

While we are on the topic of DIY streets, anyone know more about the Linden Grove Home Zone and whether there are more like it in Haringey?

As far as I know this home zone is the only one in Haringey. The cost was over £100,000 and because of these costs, home zones have not taken off in the UK. The DIY Streets project aims to enhance streets in a similar way to a home zone for about £10-20K. Sustrans are looking at phase 2 of the project and have been talking to Haringey about being involved. Apparently their meeting went very well and the ball is in Haringey's court as to whether this project comes here. There will no doubt be an update on this at the next Transport Forum on September 7th.
