Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

havent had TV or broadband since last Sunday, and their latest change of estimated repair time is now Monday 16th at 3pm.

i have read people claim that having no internet is freeing and wonderful. It is not. It sucks.

anyone else in the area affected by this outage or is it just our house?

Thanks both for that. n.

Hi there!

I'm a bit further north in Enfield and we had many outages. If you contact Virgin and just say you have an outage they'll try to tell you all kinds of things. I've had compensation on many occasions but they'll try to fob you off with a few quid if you stick to your guns 'I'm not paying for a service I'm not getting' Tell them you don't want to pay anything for the week with no access and want to be compensated separately for the inconvenience, you will need to stand your ground keep banging on about how long you've been a customer (I got 12 months £7 odd discount for being a long time (VIP) customer but you have to ask they don't volunteer this kind of info - Hope that helps

They hung up on me this afternoon because I said their customer service is appalling. So angry.

Had an outage in Venetia Road since 9th April.  Utterly shocking service and terrible customer experience.  We've called them numerous times only to be pointed to the website for a fix time.  So far 17 fix times have been missed!

On Twitter this morning they said the delay was due to the Council not approving permits to dig up the roads to fix the issue.  I emailed Cllr Ibrahim Emine, Cllr Adamou Gina, Cllr Brabazon Zena about that - and to be fair, they've been pretty responsive - so hopefully there will be some clarity about that.  Given my experience of Virgin Media so far, I would not be surprised if this is just a lame excuse from them.

Ultimately, after 3 weeks outage, it's time to find another broadband provider....

Please keep me in the loop re the council.

if it IS because of the council refusing permission to dig up the road to fix the problem, who fancies digging up the cables into the council offices and cutting their broadband off to show them what it’s like?

They’re telling you porkies.  Statutory undertakers do not require permission.  They service notice on the council under the Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and just do it.  The only power the council has is to try and get them to coordinate with one another but they can just ignore it and do what they like (as we have all seen again and again on streets around here)

Another day another push back on the fix date, Thursday > Friday > Saturday > Sunday and now Monday!

on the plus side they have started send text updates, but on the minus side, they have missed every target they set themselves... we are now OVER 21 days without TV or internet.

They sign off their update texts with ‘best wishes’ from virgin media... I’ll give them best fucking wishes, the patronising  twats
