Something i appreciate....plus the one that followed that.
Nice poster.
What year is this?

1932.

It's (selfishly) a shame that there is no "Green Lanes" between Manor House and Turnpike Lane. It's a long stretch between MH and TL!

And it is a bit of a shame particularly when I think about what a useless stop Hyde Park Corner is.

It wasn't to me when I worked at the Lanesborough Hotel!

I'm sure you enjoyed having your own private stop at the cost of a few minutes to the hundreds of others on the train!

Lol....very nice it was. :-)
A surprising number of tube stations have been closed and abandoned over the years. One of them, Aldwych, still has a blocked off entrance you can see when you climb the stairs to the northbound Piccadilly line at Holborn.

That event sounded the death-knell for the line between Seven Sisters and Palace Gates, via West Green. It quickly lost custom to the new Piccadilly line, and the remaining vestigial service finally disappeared in the early 1960s. If it had survived it would be an invaluable fast route to the now very busy and popular Stratford and Docklands area.

Ah, is that hown it happened? I have maps showing the Palace Gates line, with a convenient stop (West Green) at the top of the road here, about where Park View Academy now is (so we won't get it back).
