Hey Francesco, thanks for looking at my blog.. Yep I like trams and trains very much and have always done so, right back to the times when I lived in Harringay and my interest started with railway in Finsbury Park and Harringay.
There used to be a Train Spotter's platform in Finsbury Park complete with a Kings Cross timetable so that the kids could check out the trains.. there was also a big sign which read "Trains pass this point six minutes after leaving Kings Cross"
Also thanks for the Hackney map..lets keep in touch..

Hi SH
I did see your comment before he of the stripey shirt deleted us. We were a bit off the point anyway and chatting on each others pages is probably better than clogging up debates in the main Forum. I didn't think you were a fascho...I have been a foreign worker in France and Japan ( In Japan I learned the language after I went and it was bloody hard work) and completely understand where you're coming from. I also have friends from France and Japan who choose to live here in London because they say this is a city where you don't get stared at for having a white boyfriend and (in the case of a Moroccan friend) people in shops don't assume you are shoplifting! All of which (and much more) is why I think this is a great place to live and for my kids to grow up in.
To misquote John O'Farell, there has been a recent mass immigration of thousands of new people which in many countries and in the past would have resulted in riots but British people set up welcome meetings and look forward to getting their plumbing done a bit cheaper!!!
Stephen, I wasn't ganging up on you with Hugh. He was 'eavesdropping' ...Still that article does need updating and given a better slant. I don't know the author, they don't appear to be local. Mind you nor am I , I've only lived round here for 10 years...a veritable newcomer.
I think it must have been wonderful to have somewhere like the Arena on your doorstep. I was thinking today when I was wandering with my kids how much I would prefer to take 'em to see clowns or wild west shows then bloody Sainsbury's. Look forward to 'squeezing your hand'

Thanks for the extra pics from the Berlin campaign on my blog. I think comparing these vibrant, funny, funky posters with our own sad little signs is quite revealing and useful.
Thanks for the support on here and on Flickr

Steve got any pics of Berlin cycle lanes? There was a mention of them in the Wood green consultation discussion. Would be interested to see how they do it.
To line up pics they need to be within the same hypertext paragraph markings (and of course their combined width must be less than the total column width available).
See the example below:

I haven't tried it, but I imagine if you change the text align instructions to left for one and right for the other, you'll get the two pics separated as well.

The discussion was how the cycle lanes were incorporated into pavements in the Wood Green SPD post. Someone mentioned Berlin and I thought you might have some pics.
Hi Stephen H,
Just to say a belated welcome to the gardening group, hope you find it interesting. You're in Berlin aren't you - don't know whether you share delightful combinations of clay and snails... Anyway, post away about anything garden related that takes your fancy.

Hi Stephen.
I used to go and watch the trains with my dad on the bridge at the end of Burgoyne Rd (I think) and my brother and I used to sneak past the ticket office on to the platform at Harringay West. I don't remember Tottenham School Sports or the Arena. And I don't remember any teachers except I had an Indian lady who taught me English or writing - she was lovely.
I moved out of Harringay and London in 1965.
Hi Stephen. Thanks for your comment on my blog. And thanks for the extra info. You've got a fantastic memory. Perhaps we were in different classes but I remember very little about friends at school - apart from wanting to be chased by a boy called Stephen in infants and being very disappointed when he didn't :-) .... perhaps it was you! I intend to write more as and when I remember anything. I do remember regularly meeting a friend in Stanhope Gardens to go to school and walking down Warwick Gardens to get to school - her name was Jean Cardy (I think). Ring any bells?
I don't really know what the small white square with .2. on it (in my pic of Christmas Play 1930/31) was intended to convey. Not the class number, for sure. Perhaps it was there to identify the negative when parents wanted to order prints?

Hi, your new photos are in the photo album. Are they showing up on latest activity for you? We've noticed that since the 'upgrade', there are a few bugs and one is that some activity doesn't show up on latest activity. I think Hugh has reported it to ning.
