One of the most inspiring blogs I know is the Thriving Too blog which shares great ideas from around the world especially ones that help communities.
Today's crib from them is to share this wonderful little film about how pie can help communities talk to each other
The blurb says that PieLab — the vision of 14 Project M designers — is one part pie shop, one part community-focused design studio. Don't let the jargon put you off...its about a community space that says come, sit down eat and tell us what you want...It's surely not such a mad idea to suggest that we could have one of these in an empty shop on Green Lanes...after all look at all the brain business that is done in Cafe Lemon or the Salisbury.
Imagine if the business of the Harringay Tea and Bun shop (ooh I like the idea of that) was to collect ideas and share 'em around and if you assume that the video is going to be set somewhere leafy and funky on the streets of New York - you'd be wrong. This is Greensboro Alabama where it is the first new business to open on the high street in years.
