But this isn't an election for the Council.  It's for our MP in Parliament, whose role it is to represent his constituents in Parliament.  If you're voting on Haringey's rubbish policies, what about issues such as the privatisation of the NHS, the destruction of schooling, etc etc - the national issues of the election?  You're voting Tory so I'm assuming you aren't worried about whether or not there is an NHS in 5 years, or whether there is decent schooling available - to people in Haringey as well as nationally.  IMHO a General Election isn't the forum to vote on local rubbish collection policies, it is, however, the place to vote on policies that apply to the nation as a whole - it's our only opportunity to do so.  Sure we should be voting for the candidate who will best represent our borough, but we need to do so with reference to the national manifesto of that party.

There will be a chance to vote in local elections in a year's time. The Labour Party will be selecting candidates for this around September/October. If you're a member, do plese get involved in this process. Votes in selection meetings are 100 times more powerful than votes in elections.

Like in Communist countries, eh?

Basically I am not voting Labour because I don't believe they have competencies to make any positive impact. Failings in managing the local constituency, whether it is housing, schooling or anti-social trash damping demonstrate that. I am judging not by their manifesto but by their results. I don't think they have a good record.

But it's not the MP's responsibility to run the local Council, it's an entirely separate institution.  David Lammy is not on Haringey Council.  He can seek to influence the council's processes and decisions on behalf of his constituents, but MPs aren't part of the local council.  Failings in managing housing and flytipping have nothing to do with MPs, that's the council.  Schooling is not the Council, that's the government, which is currently trying to destroy state education by reducing funding.  The Council can't do anything about it because Councils are no longer allowed to open new schools.  They're also not allowed to build new housing, they don't have the budgets for it and there are rules about how much they can borrow.  The Tories stopped Councils providing social housing, just like they stopped them providing schooling.  So I'm not sure what results you're judging them on, but you need to judge the right people on the things they're actually responsible for, and David Lammy and the Parliamentary Labour party aren't responsible for flytipping.

Not like the Tory government of chaos.

NHS  - lengthening waiting lists, demoralisation of staff, chaos in A and E, staffing crisis, reorganisation chaos...

Schools  -drastic lack of school places, demoralised staff, return to divisive unfair grammar schools, 'free school' funding chaos...

Prisons  - demoralised staff, overcrowding, suicides, staffing crisis, riots...

Brexit  -chaos...

Social care -chaos

Social security  - PIP benefit chaos, disability payment chaos, payment penalties...

Housing  -lack of house building, affordable housing...

Homelessness...

UK union  - anyones guess...

That's off the top of my head as I'm sure there are more, but don't forget "Strong and stable", "Strong and stable", otherwise known as Mayhem and chaos, Mayhem and crisis...

Lammy is useless. Takes voters for granted. Go ABHL - Anyone But Haringey Labour!
