She's not from South London. She's from Wood Green.

I can't see that someone from Wood Green could be a very effective MP for a South London constituency. Of course she could probably claim expenses for a second home in Wallington.But good luck to her ( and them  )

It looks like it's not at all winnable so just like when Joe Goldberg ran against David Cameron in 2010. I bet Nora's spitting tacks though.

It's seems this has generated some interest so I should respond :)

1. As you all know there is a snap general election
2. Seats up and down the country had not selected candidates at this stage for a general election that should normally have been in 2020
3. The Labour Party went through a process of selecting candidates firstly for retirement seats then all other seats.
4. I have been selected to contest Carshalton and Wallington in South London. I will proudly be flying the Labour flag. I DID NOT I repeat DID NOT :))))) (edited from previous post oops) apply to be considered for a retirement seat. I am a supporter of Jeremy Corbyn internally and of course externally so my intention was to get out there and make a case for him to be our prime minister. Nothing more complicated then that.
5. The Labour Party contests every parliamentary seat in the country and I will fighting the seat over the next 4 weeks


P.s I was actually born in Saaaf London but in Blackheath (till the age of 9) so South East. I am not claiming a local connection and this is the first time I have pointed this out in response to the above. The Lib Dems have mentioned that I am Norf Londoner so I reminded them that Tom Brake was a Hackney Cllr before he stood.

I am not on holiday from my cllr duties all emails and meetings as usual !
