Done!

I attended a meeting about this the other night and the whole thing is a shambles and deeply unfair.
Just bumping this up. Please share with your chums....
I've signed too though I'm rather sceptical about the effectiveness of these petitions.

Come on Harringay - this is a no brainer get signing ?

Bump
Not knowing too much about this I had assumed that it was a bit of robbing Peter to pay Paul so I had a look at the map below
http://www.schoolcuts.org.uk/#/
I searched for my old school in Sunderland, one of the most deprived areas of the country and every single one in the area, except two grant aided voluntary schools, are being cut, some to around £4,000 per pupil. I can't actually see where the Fair bit comes in to this at all!
Robbing Peter to pay Paul is an extremely fitting description of the situation!

Michael, I think what everyone is working out (including some Tory MPs) is that the fair bit, as you say, applies to no one, that it's a ruse to cut school budgets full stop. There are local schools already cutting back on Senco staff & TAs for example. This is what the Tories want to see happen but, as a manifesto pledge said they would protect budgets they've therefore come up with a divide and rule lie ... no one is actually getting fairer funding, although everyone is meant to think someone else is.

At the same time the Tories are stripping back  council responsibilties (such as the provision of various back of office services for schools) by also reducing central budgets. Schools still need those services( like HR or H&S) so where are they going? ... private sector. Same is happening with the NHS. The Post office has already been sold off and unfortunately providing a rubbish service compared to the past, when it was realiable.

By the time the Tories are kicked out of power in 2025 their total state reduction revolution will be complete, although we will still be paying the same taxes! It will be very hard for any other political party to change things in the future. Blair actually contributed to the Tory plan of state reduction ...
