It breaks my heart to think about those children out there in such pain. I taught 'difficult' kids all my working life. Kids whose lives were dreadful beyond what any child should have to bear.

They were all children to me and even when they were 6ft 2 and towering over me, they were still that slightly scared 11 yr old that first fetched up in my classroom. You know most of those kids turn out just fine, they are happy and have a good life but there are a few that don't.

I've seen ex pupils of mine off their faces, under blankets in Camden, several of them have ended up in prison some for murder. Every time I hear that, it is painful and I wonder if we could have done more.

Lennie James' letter is amazing and cuts to the heart of it. We are failing these children. If this programme saves childrens lives then I am all for it. I hope they succeed.
