It's seems like the Hawes and Curtis redevelopment might have fallen at the fist hurdle and may have been shelved.
I haven't found out why but it's been suggested to me that the Hawes and Curtis development will not going ahead as planned. Apparently, the new Qatari owner hasn't ruled out a future development, but in the meantime the existing building is being repurposed as a 24-hour access parking service.
The cars currently in the lot suggest that it might be a holding pen for the luxury metal of Qatari visitors, but a conversation with the owner suggests that it might also accommodate sub-£200k cars . So if you need parking from £100 per month, there's now a central Harringay option for that. No website or contact info as yet.

Perhaps they've realised that they need to put two mature, protected trees back.
So can we get rid of parking on Green Lanes itself now?
Did anyone object? Not that I'm aware. I think most people were happy with it.
Did you object?
I don't know anyone who is happy with this - apart from the developers.
We are objecting Help_Us .
The reason we didn't start objecting sooner is because we weren't informed, despite being faced with the prospect of most of our light being blocked.
I don't yet know if ths was due to incompetence on the part of the Planning Department - or something else - but there seems to be a pattern of foisting huge and inappropriate developments on people and literally keeping them in the dark
