Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

On a walk down the River Lee path yesterday, we stumbled across Geordie Phil and his canal boat cafe moored near Hackney Wick. What a nice surprise!

Phil told me that he'd been intending to set up a twee tea shop somewhere closer to his place of birth. Circumstances however had led to quite a different reality - a canal boat selling fresh coffees on London's canals.

Phil's more used to being moored up on the Regent's Canal but of late he's been slumming it out east. At some time in the next two weeks he'll be pitching up in Tottenham close to Tottenham Hale.

Keep an eye on his Facebook page and when he moors up here, drop by and say hi and have a towpath coffee (or if you can't wait that long he's still at Hackney Wick for a few days yet).

(And, of course it was 'Ackney Wick, so there's graffiti everywhere innit and I do like a bit if graffiti).

What a great idea !!!! I remember as a young Boy back in the 40s and 50s. Going swimming in the River Lea at Tottenham Hale, on those hot Summer Days. Well done PHIL, keep up the good work, and may you get plenty of trade,

That looks good, but I hope they moor not too close to www.markfieldparkcafe.co.uk (where besides good coffee there are 79 different kinds of food). And if graffiti is/are your thing, there's lots like this:-
