A guest post from Professor Rusty, posted on her behalf (please note I have no clue about this stuff and am merely the Professor's secretary):
Within a few hours of release, Pokémon GO reached the top spot on the App Store. I downloaded it a few days later and, despite the (frequent) crashing, it’s a great game!
It’s already got me out of the house multiple times!
Anyway here’s a quick guide to Pokémon GO in Harringay:
Pokéstops
There are roughly 12 Pokéstops in Harringay: Five on Green Lanes and seven on The Ladder. These are the Post Office; Saint Augustine's of Canterbury Church (Mattison Road); Jam In A Jar, as well as two in Fairland Park and three in Railway Fields. There’s also a few Street Art installations that are Pokéstops, so search around. Finally, Stroud Green and Harringay Library and Harringay Train Station are also Pokéstops.
Gyms
There are 3 gyms on the Ladder. The Salisbury, La Vina and Harringay United Church. (The Gyms are for battling your Pokémon in case you didn’t know).
Pokémon
So far I’ve found that Harringay seems to be the perfect place for common, normal type Pokémon, this is probably because of the urban area with a lot of green spaces. It seems that the most common Pokémon in the area are Pidgeys and Rattatas with no shortage of Spearows. Also, I believe that St. Ann’s Hospital is attracting Drowzee as it is rumoured that hospitals attract Psychic Pokémon (Maybe they like the equipment or something).
Finally: looking for Magikarp? (Why would you ever want one? Because they evolve into Gyarados, that’s why!) Well the New River seems to be a good place to fish one out.

I understand (or rather, I have been told) that Wightman Road has a couple; near the Gospel Church and the New River entrance. I can't confirm this atm as my Pokemon child is currently camping in Epping Forest.
Thanks Prof Rusty!
There are also a few stops on Turnpike Lane, I've found quite a lot of Pokemon going past Ducketts Common. Also 2 or 3 stops in Chestnuts Park as well as 2 gyms.
Not in Harringay but I found some really cool Pokemon in the V&A this week, also loads of stops walking through Covent Garden and Soho today.
I kid you not, those drivers are now playing Pokemon Go! You can see when you cycle past if they're in slow moving traffic.
On that front, I am totally and utterly with you. Being on the phone (particularly texting/being online not just talking) whilst driving should really be clamped down on. I've always thought the best way of dealing with that particular problem would be to confiscate people's phones for 48 hours if they get caught using one at the wheel. That would be the only deterrent phone addicts might actually take any notice of.
