Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Next Wednesday there is to be a hustings event for Harringay ward's forthcoming by-election

The event will be chaired by Harringay resident and veteran CND campaigner Bruce Kent. All five parties that are standing a candidate will be represented.

The hustings will, I'm sure be a worthwhile event to attend. In 2014 HoL organised a hustings along with the Friends of Harringay Passage. Chaired by Local resident and Evening Standard journalist Richard Godwin, the event gave candidates a great chance to outline their offer. Those who attended felt it gave them a better sense of who the candidates were and how they might perform if elected. This year's event will provide the same opportunity. It should be an effective way to address any concerns you have locally and see if any of the candidates have any solutions that match up to your hopes and aspirations for the neighbourhood.  I've been assured that the question agenda will be open to any local issues you feel you want to raise.

Thank you to the organiser for sending us a copy of their marketing material to use.

And still James Ryan was elected. No wonder those right wingers in the Labour party aren't leaving to join the Lib Dems or the Tories.

Really is it's that bad in HLP?

Slightly ashamed to say I've never attended one of these before. Is the format like Dimbleby's Question Time?

usually questions are taken from the crowd and each candidate answers in turn , for a fixed time.  They prob start with each candidate having a pitch for five minutes-ish.

A general statement from Candidates introducing themselves as Pam mentioned, usually some submitted questions in advance, then some questions from the floor. The last hustings was well organised, advance questions were submitted via HoL I seem to remember a flyer calling for Q's to be emailed.resdy for the hustings.
